C51MHD Depress both volume up and volume down ON FRONT PANEL while powering up. In the menu displayed the volume symbol will be highlighted. The max vol level can now be set using vol up/down buttons, ther are 64 poss levels.
Press BLUE to advance to option PM (Preset Mode). This option locks the tuning if set to N using the programme up/down.
Press BLUE to advance to option OP (On Programme). This option determines the programme selected on switch on.
Press BLUE to advance to the standby symbol. If set to Y the TV will power up in standby.
Press STANDBY to exit the service mode.

C14PPB Although this model does not have a Hotel mode, the software does permit accidental access to a hospital mode which locks out the front MENU button and tuning.
To exit the mode a Philips handset with a PIP SWAP button is needed, for example a C78NP9 H/set.
The Hospital mode is cancelled as follows:
Press PIP SWAP, the TV will change to program 2. Select program 38.
Press MENU on the front panel and OSD on the handset for 3 secs.
H- is displayed to show that the hospital mode has been exited.

C14PPC/C51NPD Adjust volume to desired max level, then select channel position 38. Press and hold simultaneously STOP (menu) on the TV and STOP (osd) on the handset until H+ appears on screen
Press OK to remove H+ from the display.
Repeat procedure to deactivate hotel mode, H- will appear.

C14NSB Press PICTURE button on the TV and the STATUS button on the handset simultaneously.
The screen will display ITEM-0 SET-0
Use the PICTURE button to alter the ITEM number
Use the VOLUME+/- to alter the SET number.

ITEM 1 - Sets the current volume level as the max level and also inhibits access to the tuning menu.

SET=0 (No) SET=1 (Yes)

ITEM2 - Set starting programme position. (SET 'number' = 0>9 or AV)

ITEM3 - Select start option. (SET=0 as ITEM2. SET=1 start in standby)

ITEM4 - Set SCART status conig. (SET=1 Disables TV/VID button SET=0 Enables)

Press STATUS button to save and exit service mode.

C14PSB Press the 'F' button on the TV and the ¥ button on the handset simultaneously.
The screen will display ITEM-0 SET-0
Use the 'F' button to alter the ITEM number

C51NTF Press STANDBY on handset, then switch off TV at mains.
Press and hold STANDBY while powering on. Release when locking menu appears.
With MAIN MENU highlighted, use +/- to select on/off.
Press TUNE (Yellow) to advance to TIMER MENU line.
Use +/- to select ON/OFF.
Press TUNE (Yellow) to advance to max vol line.
Use +/- to adjust max vol level required.
Press TV on handset to save and exit.

C14/49/41MZB/D- Press the button sequence i - YELLOW - PROG within six seconds.
The hotel menu will appear.
The first line determines if hotel mode is active and can be set to YES/NO with < or >.
To store setting press the red 'M' button. To exit press TV.
The second line of hotel menu sets the max volume level.
The third line determines if the h/set standby button if fuctional.
The forth line is used to bar certain programme positions.
To set the programme number that is selected when initially powered on, scroll down to the fourth option. A yellow 'S' will be displayed at the bottom of the menu. Select the startup programme using < or > buttons then press YELLOW to store.
Press TV to save and exit.

C41MZE Hotel mode is only accessible if enabled within the service mode.
To select service mode press the button sequence MUTE RED TV. From the menu that is now displayed select the HOTEL line. The left or right cursor keys may be used to select YES/NO. Select yes to enable hotel mode, press RED to store then TV to exit.
Press the button sequence MUTE YELLOW TV within six seconds. The hotel menu will be displayed. To store any setting press the red 'M' button. To exit press TV.
The first line determines the startup channel.
The second line determines the maximum volume level available.
The third line enables/disables the remote h/set standby button.
The fourth option allows individual barring of channels.

To enter special codes, hold down 'S' button for 3 seconds then enter code when SP_ appears on screen.
NOTE: Some codes do not apply to some models.

00 Cancels all previously stored special fuctions, set will always come on in standby.
01 Cancels all previously stored special fuctions, set will come on showing the channel that was viewed at switch-off.
30 Enable tuning preset.
31 Disable tuning preset, the current volume level becomes the maximum.
40 Set starts up showing the channel that was viewed at switch-off.
41 Set starts up showing Channel 1.
50 Set comes on in standby.
51 Set comes on normally, ie not in standby.
70 Stores a list of tuned channel positions in the microcomputers memory.
71 Deletes the currently selected channel from the list created by code 70.
72 Adds the currently selected channel to the scan list.
90 This code selects the secret position (Child lock) function. Select the channel to be locked, then enter and store special code 90. When that channel is subsequently selected it will not be displayed unless the h/set button sequence 'S' (for 2.5secs) '90' 'S' is pressed. To unlock, special code 90 must be entered and STORE pressed while the channel to be unlocked is selected.

C14MYC Press C-LOCK button for 3 seconds.

C14MYC Tuning locked - forgotten PIN!.
Whilst pressing and holding VOLUME DOWN on the TV set, press the CHILD LOCK button (key symbol) on the handset 10 (ten) times, then press mode to unlock.

TATUNG "C" SERIES Press and hold P+ on front panel of TV while switching on.
Low Volume/No adjustment = Press VOL+ or - on TV front panel, while volume bar is displayed press -/-- on handset.

TATUNG "D" SERIES Press "square symbol" button on remote, a red key display will appear on screen, press and hold numeric "1" on handset untill red key disappears. OR Press and hold P+ on front panel while switching TV on.
No Tuning/Storing = Press "square symbol" button on handset, a menu will appear, press numeric "4" followed by "5" then press and hold "1" untill white key is removed from display.

TATUNG "E" SERIES No Volume Adjustment:
Press VOL+ or - on TV front panel, while level bar is on screen press MUTE on handset.
No Functions = Press and hold KEY button on handset until a green key appears.

Factory default is obtained by pressing in sequence SETUP,P,2,3,STORE,UP,DOWN.

To reset PIN number to 1234, hold the standby button on the front of the receiver for at least 6 seconds while powering up receiver.

Software Lockups

C59NHG Occasionally the message SBC***76TN can appear on screen. This indicates
that the set is in service mode. To remove, press "ESC" key (under flap on h/set), the
service menu will appear, then press "STANDBY". Bring set out of standby in normal way.

C51/59/66NHF Occasionally the message C**46TN can appear on screen. This indicates
that the set is in service mode. To remove, press and hold the two "RECORD" buttons on the
handset until display changes, then press standby. Bring set out of standby in normal way.

C14/41NZB/D/E When locked out, the red LED will flash and the set will be dead.
The lockout mode is activated by the key sequence 1 - 2 - 3 - STANDBY
and deactivated by 1 - 2 - 3 - TV.
