Most Digital phones will work with one another;
 
Phones that do work with one another are called gap Compatible
 
If the phone says not gap on the instructions page  dont buy them as you cant add handsets
 
A philips handset will work with a NEC base for example.
The following General guide should help;
0000 is the most common Pin Number
9234 Is used as an AC code for SAMSUNG
RC code is printed under the base on PHILIPS
1590 is used on some Cable and Wireless.
1111 is used on Ericsson.
      STEP 1Put base into Register Mode, Either hold page for 30 seconds, or 
      unplug and plug mains connection. 
      Look at registering handsets for the base you want to add the handset to.
      STEP 2Put handset into register mode, see  manual for the handset you are 
      adding
      STEP 3Enter Pin, See below for Base Pin  
      --- You want the pin for the type of base you are adding a handset to.

Use the pin for the main base regardless of what handset you are adding.
