Hi there
My name is Eng. Majid, I live in Iraq.
In my country, we are suffering so much from repetitive power blackout and brownout.
I own an APC 1400 pro ups, and decided to connect external, maintenance free batteries (2X 55 AH), it works fine.
My problem is: How should I reduce input power sensitivity (or cancel it), to face brownout incidence? I will be thankful for any tip.
I own all schematic diagrams of the ups.

Thank you for your responce ,
Is there any way to do it by hardware modification? , like using a stabilized dc source instead of T1 (input voltage sensor) ,for (In Rect) ,to R64 ( IC 10) , and R55(IC7) ? to decoy IC10 ?
What about generator electricity ( with harmonics and spikes )? since we rely so much on Gasoline generators ?

You may simply measure voltage on In Rect and AC-OK in the normal operation and connect this inputs to resistive dividers, that provide needed voltage.
About generator electricity - I think, if You find ferro-resonant stabilizer (years 20-40 ago they uses widely) You solve this problem. |

Thank you for your helpful tip.
One last question; what is the appropriate data cable scheme (in your openion), used to update my ups EEPROM, since there are many schemes caused me confusion?
